Specialist kidney care in the heart of Bankstown

Kidney Care Clinic was established in Bankstown in 2017 and is a modern specialist practice in the heart of Bankstown’s medical precinct. Our practice was founded on traditional values of outstanding patient care, respect and continuity, while providing contemporary specialist nephrology services to the diverse community of South-West Sydney.

Our team of nephrologists reflects the cultural and linguistic diversity of the community we serve. Across the practice, our specialists speak Greek, Vietnamese, Malay, Tamil, Slovakian, Arabic and Farsi, allowing many patients to discuss complex medical issues directly with their specialist in their preferred language. We believe clear communication and a strong understanding between patient and doctor are fundamental to better care and better health outcomes.

With a large team of experienced nephrologists, we are also able to offer immediate availability and accommodate urgent referrals more readily when patients require prompt specialist assessment.

The breadth of expertise within the practice allows us to provide specialist care across virtually every stage of kidney health — from kidney disease and hypertension associated with pregnancy and maternity care, through chronic and complex kidney disease, dialysis and supportive care, to kidney transplantation and post-transplant care.

Our administrative team complements this specialist care by ensuring that patients are welcomed and treated with attentiveness, dignity and respect from their first contact with the practice.

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Allow at Least 45 Minutes for Initial Appointments — Please allow at least 45 minutes for your first consultation so your doctor can take a detailed history, review your results and discuss your care. You are welcome to bring a family member, carer or support person.
  • Arrive 10 Minutes Early — Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in and complete your Patient Information & Privacy Consent forms before seeing your doctor.
  • Do Not Empty Your Bladder Right Before Arriving — A fresh urine sample is required for your initial appointment, so please avoid emptying your bladder immediately before you arrive.
  • Bring Your Medicare, Pension or DVA Cards — Please bring your Medicare card and, if applicable, your Pension or DVA card. A valid Pension card provides access to our concession rate, and there is no consultation charge for DVA Gold Card holders.
  • Bring a Valid Medical Referral — Please bring a current referral from your GP or specialist unless you are certain it has already been sent to us.
  • Provide a Complete List of Your Medications — Please check the medication list on your referral and make sure it accurately reflects what you are currently taking, including vitamins and supplements. If no medications are listed, please bring an up-to-date list or simply bring all of your current medications with you.
  • Bring Relevant Medical Records and Test Results — Please bring any relevant blood or urine results, kidney imaging, specialist correspondence or hospital discharge summaries that have not already been sent to us.
  • Let Us Know Early If You Need an Interpreter — Where possible, we will match you with a doctor who speaks your preferred language. If a professional interpreter is required, please tell us when booking or at least 48 hours before your appointment.
For Referring Doctors

Referral information

We welcome referrals across all areas of adult nephrology and obstetric medicine and work closely with GPs and specialists to provide timely assessment, expert advice and ongoing care.

With a diverse team of experienced nephrologists and obstetric physicians consulting at our practice, we are able to provide comprehensive care across the full spectrum of kidney disease, hypertension and kidney-related issues in pregnancy.

The number of specialists within our practice also means that urgent referrals can often be accommodated promptly following clinical review.

Our doctors reflect the cultural diversity of the community we serve, with several specialists able to consult with patients in their preferred language. This can improve understanding, strengthen communication between patients and their doctor, and support more effective and culturally appropriate care.
